Brandywine Shawl

Last week I finally finished the Brandywine Shawl and today the weather was just right for a quick round of photos in the North Pasture. As always Rosemary Hill’s patterns are a joy to knit. I love learning a new technique and this shawl had reverse I-cord bind off that I’m happy to add to my bag of tricks. This was knit while at several festivals on the road and found a few errors when I stretched it out on blocking wires. Errors smerrors – it’s a lovely shawl and I’m going to get a lot of wear out of this one. I used a natural brown alpaca/silk blend that was part of our Lost City Knits yarn line this past year.(I’m currently sold out of the alpaca/silk but never fear – there is a feed bag full of alpaca that I’ll be sending to the mill next month. Think cinnamon colored yarn. Oh yeah! And think llama/bamboo which is in stock!) The drape is exquisite and the soft light touch of the alpaca is all you dream it can be.
